DESCRIPTION:Sign up for some time in our Woodshop! Reminder: You must take the Woodshop Orientation class before using Woodshop Open Hours.\n\n\nCome into our Woodshop to work on your personal woodworking projects after completing our Woodshop Orientation. Woodshop Open Hours is designed to give you the space and tools you need to complete your projects. Regardless of your experience\, there will be a knowledgeable Woodshop Steward available to provide machine-based guidance and ensure your safety while you work. They may also be able to provide some project guidance. \nWhat to Expect: \n\nApplicable tool operation refreshers (as needed) to get you started safely and confidently\n\nWhat to Bring: \n\nYour project idea\, pictures\, sketch\, or plans (digital or paper)\nAny materials you’ve already sourced\n\nPrerequisite: \nYou must take the Woodshop Orientation class before using any type of Woodshop Open Hours. You may learn more about the Woodshop here and sign up for Woodshop Orientations here. \nCan’t find a time? Need extra support? \nIf none of these times work for you or you need a lot of hands-on project support\, please fill out our Woodshop Open Hours Request Google Form. If a Steward is available\, they will get back to you confirming one of the requested times. \nWe also recommend filling out our Class & Event Notification Registration form and checking “Woodshop Open Hours (Woodshop Orientation Required)” to be notified when we post a Woodshop Open Hours next. \nIf a time within a currently listed Woodshop Open Hours works\, but you cannot make it within the first 5 minutes of its start time\, please email ava@seattlereconomy.org\, and we can try to work with your availability. Please make sure to check that there is an open spot and include the date/time of the instance in your email. \nCost & Donations: \nWe charge a $15 access fee to the shop and recommend a donation of $15 per hour of usage. Your donations help keep our Woodshop open. You can pay for any additional time via a QR code once you’ve completed your time in the shop. \nSafety & Supervision: \nAll shop time is supervised. Our instructor and Woodshop Steward volunteers will help you use tools safely. Email us at ava@seattlereconomy.org if you have any questions on Woodshop usage. \nACCESSIBILITY: \n\nMuch of the NE Seattle Tool Library interior is wheelchair accessible. All entrances have ramps that may exceed a 5 degree slope. The all-gender restroom is quite small and not ADA compliant.\nNon-English and ASL interpreters are not provided at our classes and events\, however attendees are welcome to bring their own interpreters.\nPlease contact us with any accessibility notes or requests.\n\nGETTING THERE: \n\nBy transit: Served by King County Metro bus route 372 stopping along Lake City Way NE at NE 98th St. Route 61 stops at NE Northgate Way & 23rd Ave NE and is a ½ mile walk from the tool library.\nBy bike: There are multiple bicycle route options available to the tool library\, and you are welcome to stow your bicycle inside the tool library during your visit.\nCar parking: There is a gravel parking lot that fits about 10 cars\, and an asphalt parking lot that fits 5 cars. There is no ADA accessible parking.
