SUMMARY:Volunteer Training and Refresher at the NE Seattle Tool Library
DESCRIPTION:Come join us for our Monthly Volunteer Training where you’ll learn new skills and meet other awesome volunteers!\n\n\nThis is a great opportunity to learn more about how you can get involved with the community and help out at the NE Seattle Tool Library. Whether you’re a seasoned volunteer\, you haven’t been back in a while\, or you’re brand new\, everyone is welcome! \nWe’ll cover everything you need to know to check in and out tools\, assist members\, and answer all of your questions. We’ll also go over other ways to volunteer\, including beautification\, outreach\, inventory\, fixing tools\, and steering committees. If you’d like to learn a little more about each opportunity before seeing the space (and see what other opportunities we have)\, check out seattlereconomy.org/volunteer\, and we’ll see you there! \nPerks of being a Seattle REconomy tool library volunteer? \n\nFree tool library membership when you volunteer 1 shift (or 3 hours) per month\nAccess to our Ridwell bin\nFree Seattle REconomy class if you volunteer 3 shifts (or 9 hours) in one month (learn more about our classes on seattlereconomy.org/classes-events)\nWarm fuzzy feelings!\n\nIf you haven’t already\, fill out our Volunteer Interest Form! \nThis monthly event is hosted at the NE Seattle Tool Library and the Shoreline Tool Library\, alternating locations each month. If it isn’t hosted at the location you hope to volunteer at\, don’t worry! This training includes foundational information that will help you at whichever tool library you volunteer at. \nIf you find that you can no longer attend this event\, please cancel your RSVP. \nACCESSIBILITY:  \n\nMuch of the NE Seattle Tool Library interior is wheelchair accessible.  All entrances have ramps that may exceed a 5 degree slope. The all-gender restroom is quite small and not ADA compliant. \nNon-English and ASL interpreters are not provided at our classes and events\, however attendees are welcome to bring their own interpreters.\nPlease contact us with any accessibility notes or requests. \n\nGETTING THERE: \n\nBy transit: Served by King County Metro bus route 372 stopping along Lake City Way NE at NE 98th St.  Route 61 stops at NE Northgate Way & 23rd Ave NE and is a ½ mile walk from the tool library.\nBy bike: There are multiple bicycle route options available to the tool library\, and you are welcome to stow your bicycle inside the tool library during your visit.\nCar parking: There is a gravel parking lot that fits about 10 cars\, and an asphalt parking lot that fits 5 cars. There is no ADA accessible parking.
