DESCRIPTION:Save the date for our December Tool Library Book Club! We're determining the book during our October Tool Library Book Club.\n\n\nThis is a placeholder for our December Tool Library Book Club! We’re determining the exact book during our October meeting. Please come back when we have named a book! \nLooking for a copy? Check out Seattle Public Libraries and King County Libraries! We also suggest thriftbooks.com and betterworldbooks.com for ordering used books. \nOur group agreements are as follows: \n\nRespect! Respect people’s opinions\, pronouns\, bodies\, spaces\, and time.\nKeep it flowing. While we wish we could be at book club all night\, we only have an hour and a half. Please be mindful of leaving room for everyone to speak.\nLead with curiosity. This is a place for expanding our ideas of whats possible!\nIf you haven’t read the book\, you are still welcome! No need to read the book to come and participate in our community\, all are welcome <3\n\nYou may RSVP for upcoming Book Clubs once we post them by visiting seattlereconomy.org/events and searching for “Book Club”! \nACCESSIBILITY: \n\nMuch of the NE Seattle Tool Library interior is wheelchair accessible. All entrances have ramps that may exceed a 5-degree slope. The all-gender restroom is quite small and not ADA-compliant.\nNon-English and ASL interpreters are not provided at our classes and events. However\, attendees are welcome to bring their own interpreters.\nPlease contact us with any accessibility needs or requests.\n\nGETTING THERE: \n\nBy transit: Served by King County Metro bus routes 72 and 77\, both of which have a bus stop on Lake City Way NE at NE 98th St. Route 61 stops at NE Northgate Way & 23rd Ave NE and is a ½ mile walk from the tool library. Bus route schedules and maps can be found here.\nBy bike: There are multiple bicycle route options available to the tool library\, and you are welcome to lock your bike outside or stow your bicycle inside the tool library during your visit.\nCar parking: There is a gravel parking lot that fits about 10 cars\, and an asphalt parking lot that fits five cars. There is no ADA accessible parking.

SUMMARY:Learn Disaster Preparedness with the Shoreline Fire Department (S4) @ STL
DESCRIPTION:All ages are welcome at this class with the Shoreline Fire Department\, as you learn about a variety of disaster preparedness strategies.\n\n\nJoin us at the Shoreline Tool Library for a free class where students will learn from Shoreline Fire Department’s Captain Andrew Leith: \n\nHow the 911 system works\nWhy there will be a significant delay after a disaster\nWhat you will need to know post-disaster in the first 72 minutes and the next 72 hours\nHow to shut off utilities\nFire extinguisher operation\nSupplies you’ll want to have on hand\nHow to purify water\n\nAll ages welcome\, as long as they are accompanied by a parent or guardian. This class has limited capacity\, so if you can no longer attend\, please cancel your ticket.  \nAbout the instructor\, Captain Andrew Leith (Shoreline Fire Department): Captain Leith has 23 years of experience at the Shoreline Fire Department. He’s a member of the WA State FEMA Task Force 1\, Wildland Team\, Technical Rescue Team\, Rescue Swimmer\, and is assigned to the North and Heavy Rescue Crew. \nAll classes in Seattle REconomy’s Shoreline Sustainable Skill Series are offered at a reduced rate. Funding for this series has been provided\, in full or in part\, by the City of Shoreline. If cost is a concern\, we encourage you to contact us at info@seattlereconomy.org to discuss options. \nACCESSIBILITY: \n\nThe venue is wheelchair accessible and has an all-gender restroom. There is one ADA van accessible parking space with an access aisle.
