DESCRIPTION:Trade cuttings\, seedlings\, and seeds with your community. We’ll have plenty of resources for growing food in Seattle and refreshments!\n\n\nJoin us for a community swap of seeds\, edible crops\, herbs\, and medicinal plants! This event will mainly take place outside (under tents if it rains)\, but there may be some sections inside\, depending on the weather. Hopefully\, we’ll have a gorgeous day for drinks\, plants\, and music all outside! Refreshments will be provided (hot drinks and/or tea). \nSupplies we will have: Limited amount of herb & edible crop seedlings. Iced tea & snacks\, recipe books\, info on growing from seed in Seattle – especially container gardens. Gardening tools to check out. Seattle farmers almanac & medicinal herb info. \nSupplies you need to bring: Cuttings in water\, seedlings/potted plants to trade or donate. DESCRIPTION:Bring your textiles in need of mending for a night of repair and community at the NE Seattle Tool Library.\n\n\nNeed help getting your fabric back in tip-top shape? RSVP and come to the NE Seattle Tool Library the fourth Tuesday of each month for Fabric Fix-It! \nWe will have menders on site who can either offer advice on mending\, or mend textiles for you. If your project goals are out of the scope of what we can accomplish in one evening\, we will help you make a plan to carry out on your own. \nSome common fixes include: hemming\, patching small holes\, reattaching buttons\, and fixing or replacing zippers. \nWe are including a limit of two items at a time per person. If you have more items to be fixed\, feel free to bring them\, but we will prioritize fixing a few things for everyone over multple items for the same person! Feel free to bring supplies to fix your item\, if you have them. We will have some supplies on hand. Please plan on sticking around while your items are fixed. \nWant to mend at this event? SUMMARY:Woodshop Orientation
DESCRIPTION:Learn the basic safety of our woodworking tools. Woodshop Orientation is necessary to use our Woodshop during our Woodshop Open Hours.\n\n\nSign up for Woodshop Orientation to learn the basic safety of the tools that we have in our Woodshop. This will give you the basic training required to safely utilize our various woodworking tools\, and it will give you the prerequisite to use the space during Woodshop Open Hours. \nThe space is equipped with a large SawStop table saw\, 12″ compound sliding miter saw\, 2 band saws (one for resaw)\, drill press\, router table\, jointer\, planer\, spindle sander\, scroll saw\, and various hand tools. \nPrerequisite: \nYou must be a Seattle REconomy tool library (NE Seattle Tool Library/Shoreline Tool Library) member to take this class. There are suggested membership options\, but membership is pay-what-you-can\, and we do not require proof of income. Please come to the East entrance of the NE Seattle Tool Library at the time of the class. SUMMARY:Laser Cutter Orientation
DESCRIPTION:Learn how to use the laser cutter in the NE Seattle Tool Library Woodshop! This class is required to use our in-house xTool M1 laser cutter.\n\n\nOpen up endless creative possibilities with laser cutting! In this class\, students will learn how to navigate the xTool Studio software to set up their designs and operate the xTool M1 laser cutter. The laser is able to cut and engrave a wide variety of materials\, like wood\, paper\, opaque acrylic\, and fabric. No previous experience is required. \nTaking the Laser Cutter Orientation is required to use our in-house laser cutter. You must also be a Seattle REconomy tool library member (NE Seattle Tool Library/Shoreline Tool Library) to take this class.
