SUMMARY:Community Threads @ RCLC
DESCRIPTION:It's time to chat and craft together. Bring your textiles or craft supplies (or use our sewing supplies)\, and get to know your community!\n\n\nGot a collection of hole-filled socks you can’t get rid of? Have you been meaning to set aside time for your latest alteration\, but need some motivation? Come mend with us! \nOur Community Threads mending and sewing circle is a monthly event for anyone to work on their textile projects. Any textile craft is welcome! Honestly\, any craft is welcome\, but we will only be providing sewing supplies (at least at first). There will be sewing machines\, fabric\, thread and community\, as well as hot tea. \nThis will not be a class format\, while there will be experienced menders present to offer advice and counsel\, this is intended as a co-working space. \nCan’t make it to this one? We plan to host it on the second weekend of each month: The second Saturday at the Shoreline Tool Library and the second Sunday at Reuse Commons Lake City (new location!)! As it grows\, we may change it to a different day\, but we’ll let you know on social media. \nACCESSIBILITY:  \n\nMuch of the venue is wheelchair accessible. Some classes may utilize the balcony space which only has standard-width door access. The facility has an ADA compliant all-gender restroom.\nNon-English and ASL interpreters are not provided at our classes and events\, however attendees are welcome to bring their own interpreters.\nPlease contact us with any accessibility notes or requests. \n\nGETTING THERE: \n\nBy transit: Served by bus route 522 from Roosevelt Station\, or route 61 from Northgate Station\nBy bike: There are multiple bicycle route options available to the Reuse Commons\, and you are welcome to stow your bicycle inside during your visit.\nCar parking: There is a shared asphalt parking lot that fits up to 10 cars. There is additional street parking along Lake City Way NE.
