What a wonderful hand-made (by you!) holiday gift for a loved one. In this three-hour class, you will learn to sew a lined tote bag with woven straps. We’ll show you how to turn any size woven fabric scraps into a fun tote bag. Bring your own fabric or choose from our selection. In this class, you will learn to cut on a cutting mat using a rotary cutter, and machine-sew a tote bag with handles, a pocket and lining.
While this class is beginner-friendly, the instructors require that students must be able to thread a machine, wind a bobbin, adjust stitch lengths/widths, sew straight and zigzag and back tack.
About the instructors, Jen Yasis & Anna Wilson: Jen and Anna are life-long sewers and between the two of them bring a wealth of experience with textiles to this class.
Our sliding scale for classes helps to reduce barriers for participation while retaining sufficient income for Seattle REconomy, which owns and operates the NE Seattle and Shoreline tool libraries. Please choose the level that best fits your family’s income.
