Brian Coles (he/him)

Hello! I was born in New Jersey and moved to Atlanta as a child with my family. So, I spent the early part of my life shuttling back and forth along the East Coast before moving to Seattle in 2003 with my beloved Great Dane in tow. Shortly thereafter, I got married and had two wonderful but sometimes feral children. Before joining Seattle REconomy, I spent my career in technology and financial services. I left the tech industry in 2022 to open my own woodworking business for several years before deciding to focus on nonprofit work. That’s what led me to the Northeast Seattle Tool Library, where I volunteered for a couple of years before joining the team in May 2026. I love the library, because it encompasses so much of what I care about: fighting climate change, connecting with my community, and building things. When I’m not working, I spend time hanging out with my family and learning to play guitar.
