The Tool Libraries provide free community access to a wide variety of tools and sustainable resources.
Position Summary
The Shoreline Tool Library Floater is a dynamic position good for someone who is flexible, outgoing, and loves variety in their job. This role will assist in daily operations of the Shoreline Tool Library, helping check in and check out tools, manage volunteers, and create a friendly, welcoming space. The floater will also help coordinate and pick up tool donations, host classes and events, and organize tools and spaces.
Job Title: Floating Tool Library Coordinator
Location: In-person - as required (mostly at the Shoreline Tool Library with possible work at the NE Seattle Tool Library and the Reuse Commons Lake City)
Status: Non-Exempt (hourly)
Application Deadline: Rolling
Start Date: ASAP
Compensation: $22 per hour + $150/month health reimbursement benefit + generous paid time off accrual
Hours: 30-40 hours per week (flexible)
Reports to: Shoreline Tool Library Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Lead or assist running open hours at the tool library
- Pick up and organise donations and materials
- Host and staff classes and outreach events
- Attend bi-weekly staff meetings
- General cleaning and facility management
- Coordinate volunteers
- Assist with the reuse store and/or bike shack (ex. pricing or posting items online)
Requirements
- Must live approximately within 30 minutes of the NE Seattle and Shoreline tool libraries
- Must be able to drive a van
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Must be comfortable on a ladder
- Must be available evenings and weekends
