Our April Membership Drive is right around the corner, and this year, we're trying something new! We're all about connecting and growing as a community, so this Membership Drive is focused on referrals. For every person you refer to the tool library, you get one month of membership added to your existing membership. If you aren't a member, become one! You can start referring others and immediately extend your membership, and as a bonus, you’ll get one month just for joining us in April. This will continue from April 1st until April 30th.
At the end of the month, we'll tally up all of your referrals and add the extra months to your account. We'll also be rewarding the top referrer with a custom laser-cut creation from our laser cutter! You can even work with our designer to make something fun and unique.
How does it work?
- If you haven't already, become an active Seattle REconomy tool library member by completing our membership form, choosing a membership option, and confirming your email address on your MyTurn account. Please note that we also ask that folks bring their ID to the front desk of either tool library, but this is not required to have a complete membership for the Membership Drive campaign. It is a general membership requirement.
- Start spreading the word about us (tips below), and make sure everyone you refer knows that they were referred to the tool library by you (first and last name).
- They will fill out our membership form, and when they get to the question that reads, "Were you referred by someone? If so, please provide their first and last name", they'll credit you by writing your first and last name (they can only include one name). If they don't put the first and last name on your account, we won't be able to credit you.
- After they fill out the membership form, they must become an active member by:
- Selecting a membership option by completing payment online or coming in-person for the Pay-What-You-Can membership.
- Confirming the email address on their MyTurn account.
- Bringing their ID to the front desk of either tool library (this is a required part of the membership process, but with time constraints, we can still credit folks who don’t have the time to bring their ID in before May 1st).
- On May 1st, we'll add months to your account based on the number of new active members who reported they found us through you from April 1, at 12am–April 30, at 11:59pm.
- On May 1st, the active member who referred the most people will be emailed with information about the custom laser-cut creation.
How can you help? Spread the word!
- Tell family, friends, neighbors, and friendly strangers all about us.
- Let folks know that they can start referring people the moment they become a member, so they can instantly increase their membership on top of the month they already get for joining in April.
- Post about us on social media and tag @SeattleREconomy.
- Use this email template to send notes to everyone on your contacts about us.
- Use this Google Drive media library to download flyers, social media posts, and more to help share about us in-person and online.
- We have postcards at both tool libraries you can take, write your name on as a reference, and pass out. You may also ask a coordinator to print flyers out if you are unable to do so elsewhere.
