Job Title: Outreach & Tool Library Coordinator
Location: Northeast Seattle Tool Library and Remote

Compensation: $21 per hour + $150/month medical insurance stipend
Hours: 20 hours per week
Position Description
The Seattle REconomy Outreach and Tool Library Coordinator will play an essential role in creating a membership and volunteer base that is reflective and welcoming to the diverse geographic areas we serve. This position involves a combination of community outreach, relationship building, event coordination, and supporting day-to-day operations at the Tool Library. The ideal candidate will be outgoing, organized, reliable, and passionate about engaging with diverse communities and promoting sustainable economic practices. The coordinator will work closely with the executive director, operations manager, steering committees, members, and volunteers. This is a part-time position with somewhat flexible hours and room to grow!

Outreach Manager (10 hours/week)
Key Responsibilities:
- Outreach Activities: Plan and attend outreach events, workshops, and networking opportunities such as farmer’s markets, to raise awareness and promote REconomy’s initiatives. Build relationships with local communities, ensuring that our outreach is inclusive and welcoming to all
- Volunteer management: Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteer participation in outreach activities.
- Community Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for community members, volunteers, and organizations interested in the program. Actively build and maintain relationships to promote REconomy’s mission and services.
- Logistics & Coordination: Assist in organizing and coordinating events, including venue selection, marketing materials, and communications with participants.
- Communication: Represent Seattle REconomy in a professional manner, providing information about programs and services to the public.
- Administrative Support: Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, track event participation, and assist in reporting on outreach efforts.
- Collaboration: Work closely with team members to ensure consistent messaging, coordination of efforts, and achievement of outreach goals.
Tool Library Coordinator (10 hours/week)
- Assist and Manage NE Seattle Tool Library: Oversee operations of the tool library during open hours (select weeknights and weekend days with assistance provided by volunteers)
- Check in and out tools and maintain physical and digital tool inventory
- Recruit, train, and manage volunteers during open hours
- Various administrative tasks such as recordkeeping, email response, and reservations
- Attend steering committee meetings as requested currently on the 3rd Wednesdays of each month from 7 – 9 PM.
Qualifications: The Library Coordinator should possess the following skills and abilities:
- No tool knowledge necessary!
- Ability to work 20 hours per week, including some evenings and weekends
- Must have access to a reliable car for travel to outreach events and meetings
- Outgoing and personable with excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Comfortable and experienced working with diverse groups of people
- Reliable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
- Ability to assess and adjust strategies based on community feedback
- Desire to serve the community and the environment
- Proficient with basic computer software and ability to learn new systems
- Comfortable working on ladders and lifting 40 lbs
Bonus skills! Not necessary, but we’d love to know about any experience you have with the following:
- Community outreach, event coordination, or customer service
- Volunteer or staff management and training
- Data collection and analysis
- Nonprofit work experience
- Computer or IT knowledge including comfort with Google Workspace and other office software
- Project management
- Woodworking experience and ability to teach basic woodworking skills
- Maintaining and fixing common tools
- Broad knowledge of and ability to advise on a variety of DIY projects
- Social media management and/or visual design work
Compensation: This position is paid for 20 hours of work each week, at a rate of $21/hour. There are also generous paid time off benefits and a $150/month stipend towards health insurance. This position is paid for by a two year grant, meaning that employment beyond 6/30/27 is contingent on further funding.
