Anyone 18+ can become a tool library member (younger folks can use a parent or guardian’s account with permission), whether you live in Washington or anywhere else in the world.  Most memberships are good for 12 months and may be renewed anytime.

If you are thinking of joining the Shoreline Tool Library, we’d appreciate if you could fill in this brief survey  to help us understand the community’s desires for the Shoreline Tool Library.

Membership Steps

  1. Create an account on your computer or mobile device. Our tool libraries also have computers available.
  2. Make a donation if you are able, as they are crucial to keeping this community project running. These funds pay for our employee salaries, our rent and our tools’ upkeep. You can pay when signing up for an account online or in-person at the tool library.

Below are the suggested donation fees:

    • Yearly
      • General Public: $60
      • Dual Library Membership: $80
      • Student/Senior: $40
      • Dual Library Student/Senior: $60
      • Community Supporter: $120
    • Monthly: $20
    • Lifetime: $750
We accept credit cards and debit cards online and we also accept cash in-person.
We will not deny applications because you lack funds. We do not require proof of income. If you wish to pay less than the suggested amount, please do so in-person at the tool library. You may also obtain a membership through a tool/material donation or 3 hours/month of volunteering.

3. Come to one of the tool libraries during open hours with a government-issued photo ID.
