September Volunteers of the Month: Gabriel & Mike

Two "polaroids" of the September volunteers of the month. The left one has the NE Seattle Tool Library volunteer of the month, Mike, who is wearing a cowboy hat at the rodeo. The right one has the Shoreline Tool Library volunteer of the month, Gabriel, who is leaning over with a cat on their bike.
Ami, Bob, and Afton are longtime volunteers in all sort of areas around the tool libraries, from day-to-day operations to special projects. We're endlessly grateful to have such jacks of all trades in our community 💚

Gabriel has made an incredible impact at the Shoreline Tool Library through his outstanding dedication. He has been a constant help at the Bike Shack, eagerly picking up mechanic skills and bringing fantastic energy to our team. Whether learning the finer points of bike tuning or helping members get back on two wheels, Gabriel’s commitment to community and sustainable transportation shines through. Thank you, Gabriel, for your hard work and enthusiasm! We’re so glad to have you on board.

What can we say about Mike? Mike has become a member favorite at NESTL. He brings incredible knowledge to the library and the woodshop. Mike is always willing to answer questions from members, volunteers, and staff. He understands the library, but he also understands our community. Mike solves problems for our visitors,  patiently answering any questions along the way while offering multiple options to members along the way. He does it all with quick, self-deprecating wit that makes him a joy to be around.
