About the Bike Shacks
The NE Seattle and Shoreline Bike Shacks are places for Tool Library members – regardless of prior bike repair experience – to work on their bikes with a friendly volunteer bike mechanic. The space is equipped with many bike repair tools, a repair work stand and parts available for purchase for what you can afford. We are happy to help you fix your own bike! If you have an e-bike, we can support you, with the exception that we cannot service the battery or motor.
We also sell used bikes at great prices at our Shoreline location during open hours!
You can work on your bike during the Bike Shack’s open hours. The Bike Shack operates on a first-come, first-served basis.
Only members may use the Bike Shack and can use any location.
Bike Shack costs $20 per hour, but no one is turned away for lack of funds.

Donating Bikes
All year long, we help keep preloved bikes out of the landfill by accepting donations. We accept a variety of regular bikes, from kids’ to adults’, and speciality ones of different kinds and sizes. For e-bike donations, we can accept them as long as the battery is in working condition and all charging equipment is provided. We are a great resource for apartment buildings, schools, and businesses that have abandoned bikes left behind. To donate a bike, please bring it to the Shoreline Tool Library during regular open hours: Monday through Friday, from 3–8pm & Saturday from 10am–3pm.
Donated bikes are refurbished and tuned up by our team of skilled volunteers and resold at the Shoreline Tool Library or Magpie Thrift (15403 Westminster Way N, Shoreline, WA 98133). Proceeds from the sales of these bikes support Seattle REconomy and all its community service projects.
Purchasing Bikes
The Bike Shack at the Shoreline Tool Library sells bikes. We have a wide variety of bikes at a very reasonable price. This ranges from kid’s bikes to mountain bikes. Come in and check out all the incredible bikes we have!
All products purchased from Seattle REconomy are purchased by the buyer “as is” and “with all faults” at the price listed, and the buyer understands and acknowledges that Seattle REconomy does not provide any warranty for the goods, including but not limited to the implied warranties that the goods are of merchantable quality or that the goods can be used for any particular purpose. Purchases can only be made in store during open hours. All sales are first-come, first-served, and we can not hold items.
