After the immense success of our April Membership Drive and seeing the power of connecting with fellow community members, we're introducing a portion of referral bonuses year-round! For every person you refer to the tool libraries, you get one month added to your membership. Additions to your membership will be made at the beginning of the next month.
Unlike our membership drive, only the person referring the new member will get a bonus as a thanks for introducing someone new to the community. When our Membership Drive comes around, we'll be re-introducing the bonus month for new tool library members!
How does it work?
- If you haven't already, become an active Seattle REconomy tool library member by completing our membership form, choosing a membership option, and confirming your email address on your MyTurn account. Please note that we also ask that folks bring their ID to the front desk of either tool library, but this is not required to have a complete membership for our referral bonus. It is a general membership requirement.
- Start spreading the word about us (tips below), and make sure everyone you refer knows that they were referred to the tool library by you (first and last name).
- They will fill out our membership form, and when they get to the question that reads, "Were you referred by someone? If so, please provide their first and last name", they'll credit you by writing your first and last name (they can only include one name). If they don't put the first and last name on your account, we won't be able to credit you.
- After they fill out the membership form, they must become an active member by:
- Selecting a membership option by completing payment online or coming in-person for the Pay-What-You-Can membership.
- Confirming the email address on their MyTurn account.
- Bringing their ID to the front desk of either tool library (general membership requirement, but not required for referrals).
- On the first of the next month, we'll add the appropriate number of months to your account based on the number of new active members who reported they found us through you throughout the previous month.
How can you help? Spread the word!
- Tell family, friends, neighbors, and friendly strangers all about us.
- Let folks know that they can start referring people the moment they become a member, so they can start instantly increasing the length of their membership.
- Post about us on social media and tag @SeattleREconomy.
- We plan to have referral cards (business card size) available at the tool libraries for you to write your name on and pass out to everyone you know.
