Seattle REconomy’s Reuse Commons Lake City Project

A group of volunteers and staff smile in a white, mostly empty building that they plan to paint and clean up. It will become the new Reuse Commons Lake City space.

We are excited to share that we recently partnered with the City of Seattle on a year-long project to manage a building in Lake City for like-minded sustainable organizations and educational opportunities. This space will give us the opportunity to host more classes and events, and we will also be sharing the space with other small reuse-and-repair-focused businesses and organizations.

This is all possible with support from the Seattle Office of Economic Development (OED) and Seattle Public Utilities (SPU). They invited us to lead what we’re calling the Reuse Commons Lake City (RCLC) project. LCRC is a one-year pilot that will evaluate the feasibility and viability of a shared, neighborhood-based circular economy hub.

As we develop this space, we’ll have more news to share, so be sure to sign up for our newsletter and follow us on social media (@seattlereconomy on most platforms). In the meantime, look out for information on how you can help us maximize this opportunity and grow our class offerings in this new Lake City space!

If you are interested in supporting this new adventure, please email us at info@seattlereconomy.org, and we can discuss what is needed and how you can help.
