Seedling Transplant & Edible Sprouts Event

Thin out and transplant your seedlings with us in preparation for our Seedling Festival in April (details below). Plus, learn to grow fresh and nutritious food in 1 week in your home!
Supplies we will have: Limited supply of recycling & potting materials, seeds, potting soil, recipe & edible sprout informational zines
Supplies you need to bring: Recycling for starting edible sprouts and for transplanting seedlings such as milk cartons, yogurt cups/tubs, hummus container; 4” pots, seeds, potting soil
Aims:
- Make fresh nutrient-dense foods accessible & approachable
- Help people to continue caring for their sprouts
- Prepare seedlings for plant swap in April
- Promote reuse of recycling & accessibility of transplanting materials
Seedling Festival: On April 25th, from 2:30–5pm, we are hosting a the First Annual Seedling Festival by Seattle REconomy: For and By Community at the NE Seattle Tool Library! We’re inviting the community to join us for a community swap of seeds, edible crops, herbs, and medicinal plants. Refreshments will be provided, and everyone is welcome. ACCESSIBILITY:
- Much of the NE Seattle Tool Library interior is wheelchair accessible. All entrances have ramps that may exceed a 5 degree slope. The all-gender restroom is quite small and not ADA compliant.
- Non-English and ASL interpreters are not provided at our classes and events, however attendees are welcome to bring their own interpreters.

GETTING THERE:
- By transit: Served by King County Metro bus route 372 stopping along Lake City Way NE at NE 98th St. Route 61 stops at NE Northgate Way & 23rd Ave NE and is a ½ mile walk from the tool library.
- By bike: There are multiple bicycle route options available to the tool library, and you are welcome to stow your bicycle inside the tool library during your visit.
- Car parking: There is a gravel parking lot that fits about 10 cars, and an asphalt parking lot that fits 5 cars. There is no ADA accessible parking.
