Tool Library Book Club

January 21 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Free
We will discuss “Doppelganger: A Trip into the Mirror World” by Naomi Klein. Everyone is welcome!

Join us for the ninth edition of the NE Seattle Tool Library’s book club! We’ll be reading the Doppelganger: A Trip into the Mirror World by Naomi Klein.

All are welcome at bookclub! We hope to see you there for some discussion and community building.

Looking for a copy? There are a handful at the Seattle Public Libraries and King County Libraries. We also suggest a thriftbooks.com and betterworldbooks.com for ordering used books.

Our group agreements are as follows:

  • Respect! Respect people’s opinions, pronouns, bodies, spaces, and time.
  • Keep it flowing. While we wish we could be at book club all night, we only have an hour and a half. Please be mindful of leaving room for everyone to speak.
  • Lead with curiosity. This is a place for expanding our ideas of whats possible!
  • If you haven’t read the book, you are still welcome! No need to read the book to come and participate in our community, all are welcome <3

If you would like to prepare for February, we will be reading “Hollow Kingdom” by Kira Jane Buxton. You may RSVP for that event by visiting seattlereconomy.org/events and searching for “Book Club”!

ACCESSIBILITY:

  • Much of the NE Seattle Tool Library interior is wheelchair accessible. All entrances have ramps that may exceed a 5 degree slope. The all-gender restroom is quite small and not ADA compliant.
  • Non-English and ASL interpreters are not provided at our classes and events, however attendees are welcome to bring their own interpreters.
  • Please contact us with any accessibility notes or requests.

GETTING THERE:

  • By transit: Served by King County Metro bus route 372 stopping along Lake City Way NE at NE 98th St. Route 61 stops at NE Northgate Way & 23rd Ave NE and is a ½ mile walk from the tool library.
  • By bike: There are multiple bicycle route options available to the tool library, and you are welcome to stow your bicycle inside the tool library during your visit.
