We started our first tool library in Seattle in NE Seattle Tool Library in 2013 as a way to save people money and space, divert waste, and create a resilient community. Today, we do that by offering over 7,000 tools that members can borrow and return, just like a book library. These tools range from power saws and drills, to pressure washers and party tents, to a seed library and catering supplies. With the success of our first location, there has been demand to reach a wider audience and so we are opening our second location in Shoreline to reach North King County and Snohomish.

Below is a video that hopes to display our mission and values:

We also want to thank our amazing volunteer, Abby Armato, for doing such a fantastic job on this video. She can be credited for creating this video that wonderfully captures our mission. For further interest in her and her work, please reach her at abigailrarmato@gmail.com.

We ask that you share this video with anyone who might be interested in Seattle REconomy and our tool libraries. Thank you for all of your support as we hope to normalize tool libraries and sharing of all resources. We could not assist our community without your support.
